Overview
An interactive out-of-home installation for Durex in Milan, featuring a custom battery-powered totem with real-time computer vision and wireless LED wall streaming.
Built in collaboration with VirtualBlast, the system detects couples in front of the totem and triggers a brief interactive experience, rewarding participants with branded giveaways.
Technical Setup
Hardware Architecture:
- Custom battery-powered totem (Ambiens + VirtualBlast)
- iPad running Unity application
- Teradek wireless video transmission to LED wall
- Fully autonomous, no external power required
Computer Vision Pipeline:
- Face tracking model for user detection
- Depth estimation model for spatial awareness
- Real-time processing on iPad GPU
- Couple detection logic (2-person trigger)
Built on our Body Control - Gesture Recognition foundation, adapted for couple interaction mechanics.
