The Challenge
SuperStudio Events is a cornerstone of Milan's creative landscape, managing prestigious locations like SuperStudio Più, SuperStudio Maxi, SuperStudio Village, SuperStudio 13. Following a significant corporate rebranding, they required a digital solution that could showcase thousands of square meters of event space across multiple floors.
The challenge was twofold:
- Functional: Providing event planners and clients with a tool to navigate complex layouts and access technical data remotely.
- Aesthetic: The digital twins needed to be more than just "technical models." They had to reflect the new, sophisticated visual identity of SuperStudio—characterized by a minimalist, high-contrast, and architectural aesthetic.
Our Solution: DualData x Bespoke Aesthetics
We developed a series of dedicated web applications for each venue, powered by our DualData engine. This project represents a perfect fusion of high-performance spatial data and brand-driven design.
Custom Shader Development
To align with the SuperStudio rebranding, we moved away from generic 3D rendering. We developed a bespoke custom shader that delivers a "schematic-chic" look:
- Monochromatic Precision: A clean palette of whites, grays, and deep blacks that highlights architectural volumes.
- Visual Clarity: High-contrast outlines and soft shadowing that make the complex structures of venues like SuperStudio Più immediately legible.
- Consistent Branding: The visualizer doesn't just show a building; it extends the SuperStudio brand experience into the digital third dimension.
Interactive 3D Navigation & Sectioning
The visualizers provide a seamless, installation-free experience in any web browser:
- Floor-by-Floor Sectioning: Users can "peel away" levels to explore interior spaces, understanding vertical relationships and guest flow.
- Spatial Hotspots: Interactive points (as seen in the sidebar: Art Garden, Rooftop, Super Club) allow for instant teleportation and information retrieval.
- Real-time Context: Clicking any area reveals technical specs, capacity limits, and accessibility details directly within the 3D context.
Custom Spatial Querying
Every room is a data point. Through the integrated spatial querying system, facility managers and clients can:
- Filter spaces by capacity or technical requirements.
- Visualize furniture setups and traffic flow.
- Access loading dock proximity and rigging point data instantly.
Technical Implementation
Built on DualData Platform
The core of the application leverages our DualData Web3D framework, ensuring:
- Performance: Fluid 60fps navigation even on mobile devices.
- Scalability: The ability to manage massive venues like SuperStudio Maxi (over 10,000 m²) with ease.
- Zero-Footprint: Instant access via a simple URL, integrated directly into the SuperStudio website.
Data Management
- BIM & Photogrammetry: Models were refined using architectural data to ensure 1:1 accuracy.
- Dynamic Updates: The system is built to evolve; as the venue changes, the digital twin is updated in real-time, serving as a "living document" for the operations team.
