What it is
DigiDouble.share is an event installation that scans people and delivers a photorealistic 3D avatar in minutes. The visitor steps into the rig, 40 cameras capture them from every angle in a single shot, and shortly after they receive a personalized link to view, rotate, and share their digital double — from their phone, no app needed.
Event branding is integrated at every touchpoint: background, viewer interface, logo, sharing messages.
How it works
Registration — QR code or tablet, a few seconds.
Scanning — 60 seconds in the photogrammetric rig. 40 cameras, one flash.
Delivery — Within 3-15 minutes the visitor receives a link to their 3D avatar, viewable and shareable from any device.
Social sharing — Every share carries the event branding, amplifying reach at no extra cost.
Field results
At Maker Faire Rome 2025 we scanned over 800 people in three days, with a 60% social sharing rate and 5,000+ impressions generated by users themselves. The system maintained 100% uptime. The project won the Maker of Merit award.
